Kindy 500

Thomas' kindergarten sponsored an activity called the "Kindy 500". Every child made a box car and participated in a "road trip" across the United States (parade around the school). They stopped at significant places like, Mount Rushmore, the Statue of Liberty, they met Betsy Ross and Abraham Lincoln, they learned about the emblems and symbols that represent out great Nation. Aunt Sarah got to tell the kids all the about our country's bird, the Bald Eagle. It made Thomas feel real special that his very own Aunt Sarah had a part in this fun event. He got up in front of his group and said "this is my Aunt Sarah, we go hiking together and fishing together and have a really great time--and I love her." Thomas got in a fender-bender and broke his wax paper windshield and lost his enthusiasm for the activities ahead, but when he saw Aunt Sarah he changed his tune. It was a successful event and all the kids had a good time.
